In a recent video, YouTuber camman18 has managed to discover something in Minecraft that, according to them, has only ever been found by eight people so far. It’s a rare block that seemingly cannot be found, mined, or even crafted. In the short clip, they spawn into a specific seed in which a lava pool has formed, but it’s formed in such a way that a bed that’s next to it has been burned away, though some of it still remains. What’s left behind is half a bed, which is something that the majority of players wouldn’t have seen before.

According to camman18, even if someone were to go to the exact same spot in the exact same seed, it may not be the case that this extremely rare Minecraft item appears. The way the lava pool forms in the world varies each time it renders, so the bed may spawn as well, but the entire thing may get swallowed by the lava immediately. The video does indeed show that only half a bed remains in the area. The unlikeliness of this happening means that capturing it on film for potentially millions to witness is even rarer, so it’s lucky that the YouTuber was able to get evidence of it.
It seems that, after all this time, there are still new things that fans can come across in the expansive sandbox realm. Minecraft players are always discovering interesting things, largely down to the fact that the game is so huge and that there’s so much to see. But with camman18’s discovery, it seems that this rare half-bed block is something that was perhaps unintended, so it could be a bit of a bug. But still, it’s an intriguing find.
As one of the most relaxing video games around, much of what makes Minecraft so appealing is the journey of discovery, as well as the arsenal of tools that allow for unlimited creativity. With the game still as popular as ever, it will be fascinating to see whether anyone else can find some hidden gem or closely guarded secret yet to be unearthed.
Minecraft is available now on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
