Minecraft players have been busy this week, pulling off some very impressive creations. One of these creations was an atmospheric library chock-full of bookshelves and cozy lighting. However, the library also held a secret within its depths as shown by the player in the clip.

Reddit user Siggano was the player who created the library as well as its secret: a completely hidden enchanting room that could only be opened by shifting the correct portrait. Creating a secret hidden door in Minecraft is no simple task as it requires knowledge of Redstone, so Siggano’s creation was not only creative but also oozed ingenuity.
The little details are easy to miss in Minecraft, but the comments beneath the clip soaked in every bit of the video, praising Siggano’s creations. For example, many commenters were in awe of the sheer amount of materials it would have taken Siggano to create the library and secret room; the title of the video states this is Siggano’s survival mode base, implying Siggano mined out all the materials. Other commenters worried that the dim lighting in the base surely leads to mobs spawning all over the place, but there were no enemies to be found.
Perhaps the most surprising trend in the comments is that many commenters wanted to talk about the exterior area Siggano walks through as well as the library. Commenters were very impressed with the atmosphere of the outside area and library and wished to know more about them. Some commenters also asked if the outside area and parts of the interior were modeled after some areas in Resident Evil: Village. Minecraft players reference other games in their creations often, so the idea that Siggano may have taken inspiration from other games is probable. Siggano didn’t comment on the inspiration for their designs, but that didn’t stop commenters from drawing their own potential conclusions for their inspiration.
Regardless of references or inspirations, Siggano’s library and secret room are both beautiful creations. The library and exterior are both atmospheric and the enchanting room is incredibly creative. With the Minecraft Caves and Cliffs Part 2 update released, players have a lot of new content to explore, which may lead to more interesting creations in the future.
