As seen in the trailer below, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst fans will encounter plenty of other residents of the City of Glass as Faith gains allies to help in her struggles against the Conglomerate and the game’s antagonist, the evil Gabriel Kruger. Running on the Frostbite game engine developed by EA Digital Illusions CE—that is, the creators of the Battlefield franchise—Mirror’s Edge Catalyst seems primed to contain extremely defined visuals, smooth frame-rates, and incredibly eye-popping colors.

At the end of Mirror’s Edge Catalyst’s launch trailer, fans are reminded that they can play early with EA Access on Xbox One. Plus, though it’s not covered in the video above, it should be noted that those who pick up a copy will be able to use Social Play in the game, which allows players to challenge their friends by creating time trials, which is essentially a multiplayer component attached to the campaign.

Despite the fact that Mirror’s Edge Catalyst’s launch trailer looks slick and is certainly well produced, it’s worth mentioning the game’s myriad setbacks encountered during its development stages, with its most recent release date delay occurring just last month. Nevertheless, DICE has ensured fans that the circumstances surrounding its multiple instances of postponement were due to developers wanting the game to be as pristine as possible before launch.

While it’s important to remain wary of developers rescheduling games’ release dates, fans must also retain a smidge of optimism that it will all work out for the best in the end. As far as we’re concerned, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is one of our most anticipated video games of 2016, so if DICE can exceed expectations, Faith will go on to take a break from running through our heads all day long to make a pit stop at our hearts.
