CinemaCon has been bringing a lot of updates about upcoming films and projects in the past few days. As part of the festival, attendees got an exclusive look at the first trailer for Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1. There is no confirmation on when the trailer will be released for public viewing, but fans are excited for Hunt’s return nonetheless. The previous installment in the franchise Mission: Impossible - Fallout was released in 2018, and it has been a long wait for fans.

The official CinemaCon Twitter account shared some details of Cruise’s recorded message. It turns out that the video was shot on the set of Mission: Impossible 8 in South Africa, with Cruise standing on a biplane in midair, which could potentially be his next big stunt. Details of the trailer, on the other hand, were revealed by Deadline and confirm the return of Eugene Kittridge, Hunt’s former boss and director of the Impossible Mission Force from 1996’s Mission: Impossible.
The Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1 trailer includes several action-packed shots of Hunt in Venice, the Vatican, and even the desert. It is already known that the cast and crew visited various locations for filming, including the deserts of Abu Dhabi. The trailer also features some fight scenes involving Vanessa Kirby’s White Widow and Rebecca Ferguson’s Ilsa Faust. The final shot in the trailer is of the stunt that Cruise spoke about at last year’s CinemaCon, referring to it as his most dangerous stunt yet.
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1 has faced several days in the face of the ongoing pandemic. Filming was put on hold in 2020 due to the lockdowns and restrictions put in place. In addition, multiple Mission: Impossible 7 crew members tested positive for COVID-19 during regular testing, which led to Cruise’s viral audio clip that had him yelling at the crew for breaking protocols. Initially scheduled for a November 2021 release, the film’s premiere date has been pushed back by almost two years.
Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part 1 is scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 14, 2023.
