Earlier this month, Mister Donut Japan brought back its Pokemon-themed donuts and merchandise. The menu includes Pokemon-shaped donuts, including the Pikachu Donut, which is the collab’s mainstay donut; and the Pikachu Snowman Donut. Both have whipped cream filling. There are also donut rounds named Suyasuya Pikachu Donut, Fluffy Jigglypuff Donut, and Twinkle Pikachu Snowman Donut. For the merchandise, there are glass cups and mini blankets featuring chibi versions of Pikachu and Jigglypuff.

The donut chain then surprised Pokemon fans with the Jigglypuff Donut. It will have the Pokemon’s signature pink color made with strawberry chocolate icing, and chocolate eyes, ears, and mouth. Its hair tuft will be a swirl of whipped cream coated in strawberry chocolate. It’s said to have a whipped cream filling as well.

The Jigglypuff Donut will be available at Mister Donut Japan starting December 1. According to the official press release, the limited edition Mister Donut x Pokemon treats are a holiday release. So, all themed donuts might be available for the whole month of December. This collaboration also came out in celebration of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, where Jigglypuff reportedly has a regional fake.

First introduced in Generation I, Jigglypuff has been a longtime favorite among Pokemon fans. The Fairy-type creature is known for singing lullabies to put his foes to sleep, as well as charm them during matches. In the anime, Jigglypuff got a comedic storyline as it sings to the protagonists, and drawing on their faces with marker when they accidentally fall asleep. Apart from Pokemon games, Jigglypuff is part of Smash Bros’ growing roster of characters, so it’s no surprise that there are a bunch of fan art dedicated to Jigglypuff.

In the past, fans have pointed out that the Pokemon donuts often don’t look as cute in person. Those who tried Mister Donut Japan’s Pikachu Donut in previous years posted photos showing the donuts’ melted icing, which deformed the Pokemon’s face a little. Even Krispy Kreme South Korea’s Pokemon collaboration in 2016 also saw some fans sharing content featuring an imperfect Pikachu donut and a seemingly messy Pokeball donut. Hopefully, this year’s Mister Donut Japan x Pokemon menu won’t have the same problem, especially with the Jigglypuff Donut.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available now, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
